@integral844 here is the reason, 60s music is real, today's music is shit

And im sure you are a very well trained one at that, but can you sing?

Someone should reissue those T-strap shoes.

@handyman1017 Maybe so. Maybe its just my personal preference getting in the way but a lot of the mainstream music I hear today on the radio just sounds like a bunch of yelling to me. But I am open to any unknown singers out there who actually have talent.

@thewillfulldreamer, I have to disagree. Sure, Joni Mitchell was great, and so was Nancy Sinatra, Petula Clark, Mary Travers and many other female singers from the good old days. But there are a number of young female singers these days whose music is also very creative, subtle, and musically interesting. Unfortunately, the djs seldom say who just sang that nicely arranged number he just played on the radio so I can't give you most of their names, but I can assure you that they are out there.

Like nearly all the comments on this performance. I think any attempts to analyse just why Marianne appealed to people are doomed to failure. No, she didn't have the greatest voice and no, she didn't put a lot of "performance" into it. The simple fact is that she just had that other-worldly character, that "x-factor", that certain something in her voice and demeanour that just amazed people, myself included. You just can't put your finger on it exactly. Thanks for posting.

You had to see her in person. Nothing like the b/w pictures. If you see her on 'Rock and Roll' circus THAT was the Marianne Faithfull. Jagger had the dress sent from H'Wood which belonged to Harlow but Marianne filled it out way more so.

@lakepurdy1 Was she hi?
Saw her at a club in the Sixties. Without a doubt- to this day- the most beautiful woman I ever saw! She stopped all talk when she walked in a place! Had a very luminous quality and was not at all stuck-up. Very sweet. I'll never forget her.

I love Brian Epstein. He was such a pivotal person to the cultural revolution, but he's so under-appreciated. His life was so tragic, if he'd only been able to stick it out another couple of years, things would have been so different. </3
