Its the Ryde Queen and is still slowly rotting away half way up the river medina on the isle of wight.

I actually used to frequent it when it was a night club!!! in the 1980's.

Isle of Wight is somewhere I've always wanted to visit for one reason or another and in August I'm finally getting that chance, spending a few days there. One of the major things which I hope to see isn't what most people would even glance at - its the large black crane seen in the last few seconds of this movie clip. Apart from that I hope to do a bit of travelling around the island as well as on the Medina river.

Hi there; I did indeed visit the island after a 9 hour bus ride from Newcastle. I was impressed by how friendly the people were who I spoke to (random strangers etc). Took a harbour pilot boat up river as far as a quarry and back down again to get a good look at the crane. I just hope someone raises the cash to preserve it looks well rusted/ravaged by the elements which isn't good. Perfect holiday for me, I really like the quiet life!

Unfortunately its in danger of being pulled down due to area redevelopment.

I used to live in Newport and Cowes.

I miss the island 'i used to work for the iow NHS trust. Iv done this bike ride 'Fantastic.

i moved to cowes in 1996 when i was five years old i then moved away in 2001 its a nice place i might visit next summer
