Drama series based on the stories by author A. J. Cronin, following a doctor in the post war fictional town of Tannochbrae. Finlay puts his career in jeopardy when he falls in love with a patient -- a married woman. Dr. Cameron has problems with the star pupil at his English lessons for German prisoners of war. Angus issues a surprise invitation to Janet and Dr. Neil makes his debut as an orator, with great success.
