I don't understand why he wouldn't downgrade to a more economic lifestyle. If he traded in his cars for hybrids or any fuel efficient car he would be saving a significant amount of money in fuel costs and car payments. In this situation you have to adapt and stop trying to live beyond your means. I dont understand why people have to keep up their old lifestyle when it causes them so much stress.

We've got to repent and pray for one another.  Make no mistake, this is GOD's judgment, not just part of a cycle, or government mismanagement, or even corporate greed. Those are only part of the problem. Change your lifestyle to what is pleasing to GOD! It takes faith... As soon as I heard that your old job was in the mortgage industry, I did not feel sorry for you. Pigs get fat and Hogs get slaughtered. The mortgage industry has destroyed the Midwest. Cleveland, Detroit, Indy, etc.. have been devistated by hogs like you making big commissions from loans that you knew the consumer should have never obtained. So don't cry when your gig was cut short by the economic trend.
