A fairly rare Hawaii sun dog on 25 January, 2008. A really stunning one occurs at the end really low in the sky just as the sun sets but is barely visible on this video.

  • i Love it ! good capture !

  • thanks teemaker16

  • Not to sound meteo-ignorant but whats a sundog? Those little rainbows?

  • Yes they are a concentration of light in a segment of the sun's halo on the same horizontal plane. You can only see them when the suns light is passing through ice crystals at a certain orientation I think. Crazy anchored rain/thunderstorm on Oahu last night.
