How to regulate corporations? Can't be done?

Hmm, try changing the rules. For instance, add some parameters to the corporate charter guidelines: responsible environmental impact, consideration of the public good, protection of a corporation's employees with a guaranteed percentage of bonuses from profits.

Corporations must apply for a charter, so it must be part of the charter.

If the charter is violated, the corporation loses that charter. More than 3 fines a year, and no charter.

I listened again more carefully and this guy is stronger than I heard the first time. He's a lot stronger than most of the progressives and I have to give him credit for that.

When I hear progressives say we need to be positive and not negative, I just shake my head. This 'well, we can try again later if it doesn't work' is loser talk. You've already lost. You don't care enough. You think your opponents have your attitude?

I would never go into a battle with that attitude. If you are laying groundwork, lay your groundwork. But don't go into battle half assed. Cenk needs to keep kicking their asses. He gets it.

Taxes. Simple, highly progressive taxes weakens the monopoly of power and free up the middle class to be able to create their own independent businesses, to be able to live without bank loans, and to have political power.

Reversing progressive taxes was the number one slam against democracy by Reagan, Clinton, and Bush Junior. Not only do I believe correcting this is the strongest and easiest way to return to economic and political balance, I think it's impossible if we don't do this.

I have to agree. We need to have a critical debate about the role of government in America. Whenever I hear FOX News telling me about "strict Constitutionalists" on the right-wing, one has to assume it means "flunked US history." Right-wingers are shortcutting our nation's critical, role of government debate by arguing our Founding Fathers left Congress without any powers.
