Video Game Genres - Metroidvania

(Episode 2) This is a 2D Platformer subgenre that Metroid has created & influenced many games today. In this episode of Video Game Genres I discuss about the Metroidvania subgenre & discuss about the structure and how many games like it has similar gameplay. Even though there aren't that many Metroidvania games there are plenty of them in the indie scene. @Waluigi71 Yeah, I can see it coming. The problem with people who never think things through is when they never bothered to take a look at the date this video was posted compared to Other M's release date. I seen it before & I'm bound to see more of it on this video.

Also IMO Batman Arkham's Asylum deserve's a mention as it borrows heavily from the Metroidvania subgenre. Its not quite Metroidvania but its very close.

What about VVVVVV? It's kind of like a Metroidvania game except without item collecting. Aside from that, it's got pretty much everything else associated with the genre.
