Diego is a handsome, closeted East Los Angeles native with the hopes of leaving his culturally conservative hometown and opening up a chic Mexican restaurant in Arizona, away from his grandmother and former lover. When East Los Angeles suddenly experiences a real-estate boom, culturally diverse crowds of people begin pouring into what had once been considered the "Barrio." Among that crowd are Wesley and his jealous partner Jonathan, a gay couple adjusting to the neighborhood and the dominant Mexican community. When Diego and his new neighbors cross paths at a party they establish a relationship that will escalate and ultimately reveal a side of Diego that he had never known. Filmed in the Boyle Heights area of East Los Angeles, this romantic comedy is a refreshing look at the diversity that exists in LA and the long term effects the structural and economic revitalization of Downtown LA might have on surrounding communities.
