Car Crashes into Garda Station Tullamore

TULLAMORE was the scene of a minor miracle last night after a graphic two-car crash on a main road which smashed into a busy Garda station did not result in any serious injuries.
The incident, which occurred just after 9pm in the Co Offaly town, happened when a BMW and a Toyota collided on a main thoroughfare which acts as the area's central hub. As our pictures show, the force of the collision resulted in both vehicles veering towards the busy Garda station, with one crashing into the front door of the public office.
Despite the shock of the incident and the real risk of serious injury to those in the cars, gardaí and pedestrians, no one suffered significant injuries.
One witness said the male driver of the BMW attempted to flee from the scene on foot. However, considering the accident occurred literally on the doorstep of the area's main Garda station, it is unsurprising that he was soon apprehended by officers.
