OU kicker Jeremy Alexander had a chance to win this for the Sooners in the final minute but his 42 yard kick sailed wide left. Oklahoma running back Jerald Moore would help the Sooners rally from a 24-7 deficit to tie the game up 24-24 in the 3rd quarter. Both teams would have the ball deep in enemy territory late in the 4th, but would falter resulting in the tie. A game-ending hail mary pass by the Longhorns fell incomplete and both teams would move to 4-1-1 on the season. It was the 90th and final meeting for the interconference foes, who became conference opponents in 1996 when Texas left the dissolving Southwest Conference and joined the Big 12, then the Big Eight.

  • Over the years, I've grown to not dislike him. Yes, he was overbearing on certain issues, but I think he was misunderstood on a lot of things. John Blake is one though I will not defend.

  • If the kicker at the end of this would have made the field goal, howard might have saved his job. On the other hand, he still lost to osu at home. that was the death knell.

  • Ahhh, Keith Jackson called it. Whoa Nelly!

  • Oh no...not him...ANYBODY but HIM!. I hate that fat, drunken, bumbling old fool and his stupid red jacket.
