A question to everyone... can curves effectively take over most other adjustments? Seams quite powerful to me if it's done perfectly but I'm still used to Ap2 so it'll take some getting used to.

The video spends too much time explaining the basics, which are covered in many documents and videos, and can easily be discovered by playing with the tools.

I think essential training needs to include more about what can be done - how to use the curves tool to enhance photos. You touched on it with the raising the shadows, but what else can be achieved?
