Great video, thanks very clear and looks fun to do, I can't wait to get started.

Can I use Golden Regular Gel (Matte)?

Great work!! I just have one question. Why is it that inkjet printing doesn't work for this application? Is it because the ink can run when the paper is wet? It is not convenient to get photo copies but I guess I can look into a laser printer. :)

Thanks for the video! By the way, your great grandfather looks like Ben Affleck!

Is acrylic gloss medium the same thing? What is different about the "soft"?

i got little bits of paper in my piece after i took the paper off, is that ok? how do you avoid that?

inkjet inks are water soluble and run when acrylic (water based) gels are applied. The brush work alone will cause it to run.

i got bits of paper on my finished producted after I removed the paper, is that ok? Is there a way to avoid that? Also, how much gel medium do you have to put on to get a thick product?

@17yearslater I seem to find small remnants of paper on the piece when done. I try to remove as much as I can but unless you are using the special paper for this process, it is nearly impossible to make a truly clean image. You do the best you can. The "paper" will be encased in acrylic medium when attached to the surface, hope for the best.
There is no set rule for thickness. I apply about 1/8" or so and when dry it is about half that. Experimentation will show you what to do.

Sorry, I don't speak well English and didn't understand you. What is the white paint that you put over the glass? I can understand better the reading English than the heared English :-)
Thanks for sharing your interesting video :-) Greetings from Spain.

I use a soft gel medium, gloss. No color, just the standard clear soft gel or regular gel but I prefer the gloss finish, not the matt finish.

why distilled water? Is it critical?

You need to do what you feel best. I was taught that most water has minerals and trace elements that may discolor acrylics over time. Most acrylic makers suggest using distilled water and many of my professors did as well. Just got in the habit of using it and got a distiller many years ago. Just think it best for my work.
