Bitsch Etudes #5
Bartok Concerto for Orchestra

Legendary trumpet player from the New York Philharmonic Vincent Penzarella here addresses such crucial questions as how to warm up on a brass instrument, how to practice in order to solidify technique , how to expand one's range, and much more. The master offers no simple solutions, but invites the students to be creative, and ultimately shows them how to become their own most trusted teachers. Penzarella's joy in music making is infectious. At the same time he is a repository of countless entertaining stories garnered over many years of experience with the world's finest conductors and ensembles.

  • Halfway through they are playing Fetes from the Debussy Nocturnes.

  • Bitsch is first. That's not Bartok at the very beginning

  • uh, yes, it is Bartok. Bitsch, followed by Fetes, followed by Bartok

  • That last part is Bartok. Not too familiar with Fetes though.

  • This isnt Bartok, make sure everyone knows it Fetes

  • I work on this etude occasionally. Very very difficult.
