This is a closer look at the cool riff Bonham regularly played in live versions of Dazed & Confused. Die-hards will recognize it immediately.

  • Somewhat correct

I have seen a video where he does this fill you refer to which is right after the solo with the bow on the guitar.... He did it with one hand!!! One hand was twirilling a stick and the other was going very RAPIDLY across all 3 heads ie snare and toms It was crazy to see because when I always heard it I thought it had to be two sticks not one. Im trying to hunt down the clip now. I have seen a clip where he does as you show as well.

  • @GetZapt He did the one-handed thing a lot in Communication Breakdown. There's a good shot of him doing it on the French TV appearance from 1969 Tous En Scene.

If you see my Communication Breakdown video, I demonstrate it there.

  • what size is your bass drum?

  • @marcus123211 The bass drum here is 26" diameter by 14" deep.

  • so, where do you define the cool part? cos im having difficulty picking out what you play in the song

  • @RJdrumguy In the live versions of this song, it occurs after the 2nd verse into the breakdown.
