I've always loved Jim Ed even though I'm too young to know him first time round and only got to know them through the Country Family Reunion series. I've watched old footage of the family singing and love it all. I know Maxine was an excellent songwriter from what I've read as well as having a lovely voice, but she always came across as beautiful but so bashful when she was singing...
maxine told me to tell you all this:That is so nice of them, When its something you enjoy, can't help but show those facial expressions. I have always loved to sing
Fascinating; I still remember the lamplighter on our railway station with his pole using the hook to turn on the gas. Now the lamplighter has gone, the station has gone and - alas - the railway has gone. But memories survive through songs like this. Thank you.
I have loved this song ever since I first heard it as a young girl. It's just as beautiful today as it was back then.
