1961 folk music by the Journeymen, a folk trio comprised of Dick Weissman, John Phillips, and Scott McKenzie. Scott McKenzie would find fame later on in the sixties with his big 1967 hit, "San Francisco", a song written and produced by John, who would later on form the super-group "The Mamas & the Papas".

  • i'd love to get there albums does anyone know how many they did?

  • During the groups shortlived existence, they released three albums, 1) The Journeymen, 2) Coming Attraction: Live, and 3) New Directions In Folk Music. All three, plus several compilations, are currently available on cd, I believe. And thanks for visiting my channel.

  • I had the 45 in grad school, then lost it-thanks for the post!!

  • You're welcome, and thanks for visiting my channel. This was one of my favorites back in the day, but surprising how many people that I mention this song to do not remember it.

  • Great song! Complements from Sri Lanka for posting this perennial track into YT....

  • @MrKnight1978 3 LP's and I own all 3 of them!!!

  • Great song. It brings back memories of my days in the United Chruch of Canada Young Peoples where we used to sing this all the time. The words which are an African dialect mean COME BY ME. I loved these old folk tunes from the hootenany days of the late 50's to the early 60's. This was music you could really listen to and sing along with. Thanks for keeping it alive.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. Very nice arrangement. Good voices from one of my favourite folk vocal groups. Got any more from these guys...?

  • This brings childhood memories. Thank you.
