Together, they have created an epic tale whose proceeds all go directly to charity.

@CliffyGiffy Look at the huge differences between Firefly and Serenity. All is told there, as the show took a noted departure from its tv roots into a new realm which, when observed, casts a different light on the original tv show.

Firefly was quite possibly the best Sci-Fi series ever written. It did everything beautifully within its genre. It would only have taken time and advertising to make it profitable.

My opinion of course.

@foxmuldr That is extremely unlikely, there have been shows that glorified criminal activity for years. The show wasn't supported by the network, was put in a bad time slot and wasn't making enough money to continue production. That's why Serenity was entirely fan funded.

@Teloculos Fox shut it down because it was a show whose storyline teaches people how to be eloquent thieves, working for the benefit of people at the expense of the vulgar, oppressive government. It teaches people the benefits of that life, that it can be rewarding, exciting and of great benefit to many, and that's something the larger powers-that-be (even above Fox execs) don't and didn't want.

We must realize what it is we're up against.  There is a true power operating against "rightness."

Brilliant. I keep hoping for more Firefly and I'm glad these guys made it happen. I'm too lazy :-)

It's practically criminal that Fox killed the series.
