This is the long awaited maiden flight of my 63 inch Spacewalker II. The video was shot at Hammondville on Wednesday, September 30th 2009. It's been a work in progress for the past couple of months with a friend from our model flying club offering to build it for me (Due mainly to my "Questionable" building skills) Many hurdles were encountered and conquered during the build, and the end result is a beautifully detailed quality model. The kit was a Seagull Models balsa ARF gasser kit converted to electric power. The power system consists of a 650 Kv 1150 watt Turnigy 42-50 outrunner swinging a 14 x 7 APC prop, Turnigy K-Force 60 amp ESC with a Rhino 3700Mah 4S LiPo power pack. I'm using the Spektrum AR6200 RX with a Zippy 800Mah 2S LiPo RX pack, Turnigy 3 amp UBEC and 4 x HiTec HS322HD servos.
Didn't put a battery hatch in it at all, need to remove the wing to access the flight and RX packs which is inconvenient, but workable. Went with the recommended C.O.G. which turned out to require over 200 grams of lead in the nose and it was way nose heavy during the maiden flight. Ended up removing pretty much all of it and the C.G. is perfect now. This made landing a lot easier too with now more bouncy landings!! Teriffic plane ans a great flyer.

Where did you put the battery hatch and how much flight time you getting. Looks like it flys good, they do bounce easy on landing, have to let it float down on some throttle. Nice job though.
