  • well considering there are only 0.1% species that have ever lived actually still alive, then extinction should be a slight concern if it is caused by ppl, and in most cases it is so ppl have a responsibility to help stop it if they are the cause

  • No it's not. He made his argument. If you have an argument, make it. If not, you're wrong.

  • @lokotron1 screw human kind!we dont deserve to live in this beautiful planet!

  • @santelfon1 and what about the near future of human kind?

  • @lokotron1 you are wrong my friend!we are too wick to destroy or help the earth!!!earth is 4.5 bilions years old and its doing fine without our help!!maybe we have done some damage but earth will find the way to survive...maybe it will take thousands of years to come back to normal but as i said is 4.5 billions years old...even 1 millinon years is for earth something insignificant...

  • @Dawnphyre you are exactly right, humans longevity has outpaced natural selection, which is why we had to start brushing or our teeth would fall out.

However, the reason why people are complaining about species extinction is because MOST of it is stemming from human activity (habitat loss, overfishing, pollution etc.). So most extinction is probably as unnatural as the human lifespan, so many people think we need to take measures to correct our wrongs, or 'brush our teeth,' if you will. :)

  • @kowalityjesus uh, yeah it is, anything not compedative, or not enough in it's eco system is extinct, very quickly. But we can run with your poor analogy of the teeth. Human teeth don't stand up to as much wear and tare as they used to. yes there is a sugary diet and human living longer now, unnaturally long, but thies changes happened pretty quickly, too quickly for the realatively slow process of evolution to keep up, even if it did still work right with humans

  • @kowalityjesus really? heartless? I'm alive so I must have a heart. Social... well yes I'm a realtively popular person. Darwinist... well I'm ok with it, you say it like it's a bad thing

Nitwit... well with an IQ that ballparks at 140 I'd say that's unfounded but then again with a name like Kowalityjesus you don't quite seem like the fount of well grounded knowlage

  • @Emlovesmnms George Carlin had his moments, but his schtick was that he was arrogant. Pretty much anytime you come across arrogance, like to say that you fully understand all aspects of a theory, it usually means that the person is somewhat of a fool.

Other than that, I remember his statements about the 10 commandments to be unfunny, contrived, arrogant, semantically flawed, and self-consecrating. I agree that we should make an effort to save species tho...a lot.

  • @dadubs93 dude, being "well adapted" is not why things exist.

To draw an analogy to what you are saying....It's like saying "well I shouldn't brush my teeth because if they aren't adapted enough to not rot in my mouth, they should fall out and I will be rid of them." You have to acknowledge that there are a lot of unnatural situations like your modern sugary diet and long lifespan that make teeth "poorly adapted" to their purpose and they are worth saving because they make your body work better

  • @Dawnphyre you're a heartless social darwinist at best... a nitwit and a lowlife at worst.
