Ring in the new year... With PAIN!!!

Well, unless someone decides to upload a hack between now and midnight, this might be the last hack release of the year!

So I decided to name this hack "Quest for the Light", I was feeling all poetic and stuff and after making some message blocks, I thought "Wow, I mention light a lot in here, let's run with it!". Then I proceeded to change all the background colors to black.

It's a pretty short hack, but I totally wish to expand upon it (as you can see by the random islands with no levels on them :P), hopefully it won't take another year lol.

Kind of in a rush because I gotta go soon, hope everything works!

Heh, I was actually planning to put this up on Christmas day. I even drew a crappy MS Paint tree for the video, but then I got lazy, and got some cool presents and totally forgot. So I just pushed it back for a new years release.

Not really, but now that you mention it, it sounds like a pretty good idea (I'd just have to put a [kaizo] tag or something in the thread so all the kaizo haters won't stumble into an evil hack thread).

I have 5 new levels (one of which is a pit of 12 trials!), so that should be enough content to warrent a new demo, I just gotta put them together on the overworld and test test test!

I might just be releasing a new demo soon with 3 new levels (2 kinda short ones, and 1 insanely long one).

I just need to think of one last idea for a part of the insanely long level, and then testing will ensue.

hey man, your hack is awesome, but you need to fix two things:

1-Snake Mountain: in the last room, you can skip the feeding yoshi thing if you just take the baby yoshi, hit the p-switch, hit the block with the mushroom and throw him upwards to make him eat it (a note block can solve this)

2-Mountain Core: at the beginning you can get the p-switch with a momentum jump, which make you skip the whole shell jumping part (just put the p-switch a bit higher)

anyways, good job, I liked this hack a lot
