This takes me back... Miriam Makeba, Paul Simon, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Hugh Masekela, and the incredible guitarists and drummers really outdid themselves. Anyone who hasn't watched the whole concert - I feel bad for you... Seriously.

I was 7 years old and living in the Ivory Coast at this time. Wish my parents had been Paul Simon fans.........

Pity they are singing about township jive instead of doing it

Three things are absolutly true: This was a fantastic concert held at the football stadium in Harare Zimbabwe, but Zim.has fallen into absolute shambles under the corrupt leadership of Robert Mugabe who has commited crimes against humanity and genocide, both black and white citizens of Zim. He is a racist in the purist sence of the word slaughtering thousands of black Matabeles. He is also a socialist, referring to himself as comrad president. Most americans do not even know where Zimbabwe is.
I watched this concert on TV in 1987, thought it was absolutely brilliant then and still love it now. What an atmosphere, it must have been brilliant to have been there.

This is a fantastic concert. To the person who said shame on Zimbabwe, the country has fallen into terrible ruin and destruction since the 80's and is now a destitute and poverty stricken nightmare. I think that a concert that took place twenty years ago is the least of their problems. It was a wonderful concert
