Gokujō Parodius (PSX) Akane Playthrough - Stage 1

The PSX version of Gokujō Parodius is also much more of an arcade port than the SNES version was, and as such, they differ.
Here's what I know:

- Crisper graphics.
- Music and sound effects redone at higher quality (yay!)
- Less slowdown.
- Some short load times.
- A bit added to the intro, which is why I included it.
- Upa and Rupa, Goemon and Ebisumaru, and (Kid) Dracula and Kid-D are not available. They were bonus characters, added in for the SNES version.
- Hikaru and Akane, as well as Mambo and Samba, are different, being more akin to their Sexy Parodius versions.
- Three vocal tracks that one can listen to in the sound test.

Akane now continues her sister's beautiful journey!

Note that Hikaru and Akane are not exactly the same as their Sexy Parodius incarnations. Spread Bombs are not affected by their movement anymore, and their options don't switch to circling Hikaru/Akane when you get Spread Bombs, instead simply sticking to the V formation.

Also, this is basically a restart of the Akane playthrough I was originally doing. The stage three video got screwed over by having the cursor on-screen. Since it was still relatively early in the game I decided to just start over. Easy enough to get back to stage three :P

Under normal circumstances, no, since there's no US version of the PSX game.

If you have a PSP, though, you can see if you can find (or import if places available to you don't have it) Parodius Portable. It was only released in Japan, but since the PSP has no region encoding you should be able to play it on any PSP.

Have this one on PSP, PSX, and Saturn (all Japan versions), needless to say I am a Gradius fan, and a huge fan of this series as well. Though there hasn't been a Parodius in years (and no Otomedius doesn't count), the original 5 are some of the best shooters made (MSX Parodius, Parodius Da!!, Gokujou Parodius, Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius, Sexy Parodius, and the spinoff Paro Wars which oddly isn't a shooter). Can never get enough of playing any of the original 5 Paro titles,they are just that good.

oh i see, because i had someone who wanted to sell this game to me , the NTSC/J version, i think i better go for the psp .
