VEHICLE FORCE VOLTRON
Vehicle Voltron is Voltron of the Near Universe
Lion Force Voltron is Voltron of the Far Universe
Vehicle Force Voltron team consisted of fifteen members, who were divided into three teams of five, known respectively as the Land, Sea, and Air Teams. Each team was specialized in gathering data or fighting in their area of expertise. Each team could also combine their vehicles into a bigger machine, with each combined vehicle differing amongst the three teams
.
These fighters were. * The Aqua Fighter (Sea Team) * The Turbo Terrain Fighter (Land Team) * The Strato Fighter (Air Team)
Lion Force Voltron featured a team of five young pilots commanding five robot lions which could be combined to form Voltron. In this undefined future era, the Voltron Force was in charge of protecting the planet Arus (ruled by Princess Allura) from the evil King Zarkon (from planet Doom), his son Lotor, and the witch Haggar, who would create huge Robeasts to terrorize the people of Arus.
@blkkorba78 There's actually THREE Voltrons. The vehicle force is #1, the gladiator force (Albegas) is #2 and the lion force is #3. Do a search for "voltron 2" or "Albegas" to watch them in action. They even had a toy by Matchbox. I remember the toy because my dad wouldn't buy it for me at Toys R Us back in 1985. Albegas (Voltron 2) is composed of 3 red, black, and blue robots that could stack up to form one large robot with six arms. It wasn't as popular as the other two Voltrons.

@bigfdz1 This version of Voltron came out at the same time as the Lion Voltron. You'll here us refer to this as Vehicle Voltron. It wasn't as popular in the U.S. as Lion Voltron which most people know. The plots were a little too complex for us children of the 80's, but the toys could do alot more than the lions. One of the vehicle pilots, Chip, was Pidge's (green lion) little brother, it helped to try to transition the two.

It's great to hear such a familiar voice like Peter Cullen. And who would have thought that around the same time, the Transformers would begin and continue for nearly 3 decades, when Voltron came on the scene? Peter Cullen would have to be one of the most recognized voices in the industry. Way to go Peter :)

I grew to like this series as the plots are more complex than those of the Lion series Voltron. But I liked both, however, this Voltron packs some cool weapons. Always gave me a thrill back then when he'd grab the spinning laser blades from his shoulders, slam them together as they made a sizzling sound, and form the blazing sword. Also liked the solar combat spears.

@nasiopc55555 There is no "Voltron" only Golion and Dairugger XV. WEP bought out Golion and Dairugger XV together at the same time and dubbed them Voltron and Vehicle Voltron.
