Had this same idea m'self, about, oh...twenty years ago or so. You just can't trust anybody who wants the job so badly that they're willing to compromise all their morals and ethics to get the job...so just leave it up to random chance. SIDEBAR: here's the kicker for my version of the idea - the person who wins the lottery and gets 'drafted' to a term as President HAS to do a good job...if not, he or she have to serve a SECOND term to clean up the MESS from the first term...

The first thing you got to realize is that our economy has become the way it is as a consequence of natural logical process. The fact that there is a small dominant minority ruling over a large army of slaves and that this has always been this way and always will be this way is exactly like 1+1 makes 2. Any aspiring politician should have an initiation period. They should spend at least 5 years in the poorest areas and work for minimum wage, without any form of outside financial support. A bit like the film 300, without the wolves and spears.
