I'd like to ask if you got the same impression watching the film as I did watching the trailer because when I saw the trailer it looked like a mix of 300 and God Of War(I'm not sure if you play video games but it's the story of a spartan warrior who wants to destroy Ares for causing a terrible tragedy in his past).Oh and I just saw the J.Edgar Hoover movie and thought it was fantastic(off topic I know but oh well).

@dadman1988 It's not far stylistically from 300. More like replace 300's over-the-top manly bravado with a more traditional fantasy story, add a touch of artistic class to the visuals and you've got Immortals.

Immortals was classic Tarsem. Stupid as fuck script into a gorgeous film. He can actually turn a bad script intoa  good film. Mans an alchemist.

@JoshuatheAnarchist Oh, OK. Again, I'm sorry for the miscommunication. Also, good review as always. I had reservations about this movie because from the trailers it just looked like a wannabe 300. But, I've been hearing good things about it. I might actually see this movie.

@toekneebeeears I said "LIKE Zack Snyder, Tarsem know what a tripod is". As in, they both are among the few action directors in Hollywood that hold the camera still when shooting action.

@JoshuatheAnarchist I'm sorry I must have misunderstood you. It seems to me that you did not like Snyder's action scenes because I thought you said he does not use a tripod.
