Ok, I think I got a solution to your problem. My version of software is 2.6... try system update, otherwise, go to Account> system settings, it may have to do with your PSN because psn holds some main controls. If both of those dont work, I got ONE more solution, the next time you go on you PS3, hold down the power button till you hear the fourth beep, you should be in a secret menu where all the controls are, after that, click restore PS3 system. If you dont wanna lose your game data, use a USB

the graphics card is dead. is it worse in a game? you should kick the ps3 and see what happens, sometimes its like magic ;-)
