This is my first YouTube video post and also the first time i do a Video review.

In this video you can see an image from a 6x7 negative scanned at 3200 DPI for a total of 61mpx. Scanned with a Imacon scanner ( i don't remember the model because its not mine ).

The Film speed was iso 400 and i underexposed background for a dramatic effect.
we can see the grain more into the shadow detail but i like the pattern it give to the picture and when you want to use the image for the web the grain is less obvious when you downsize the image to 1000px in width.

Let me know if you have more question about this image.

  • How do you know what DPI number to use?

  • @The1970sInfatuate i did several scan and with the Epson v700 the best DPI to scan is around 2400 and 3000 when you go over its not that good

  • @rephixphoto with this imacon it was scanned at is maxium dpi 3200 and its super sharp

  • Nice video! I hope you do more of those showing the detail etc

  • @agerpic i posted another one on my channel

  • Nice video! I love the shot; nice composition. And, of course, the superiority of film really comes through in this video. Thanks for sharing!!

  • @themacdaddytj i posted another one on my channel

  • @agerpic sure i will i am preparing a photoshoot behind the scene with my rz67 will be posted when its online make sure you subscribe to you receive a notification when its done :)

  • @yeseverymomentcounts i also forgot to tell you i use some cheap radio trigger form ebay that i bought like 2 year ago i don't have pocket wizard but i recommend them because since this is film you don't want to have some missed triggering since you only have 10 frame :s

but i never had any missed triggering with the cheap trigger from china but i will buy pocket wizard soon

  • @yeseverymomentcounts because of the below focus you need to be carefull with the distance scale on the side because of the distance of the below you need to compensate if you are too close of the subject. i will cover this on the behind the scene video i will do this week or the next one ...

  • @yeseverymomentcounts i fist start by under exposing the background for the look and mood i want and then i compensate the shadow of the subject with a flash and when the exposure is perfect on my 5dmk2 i then replicate the same setting on my mamiya rz67

be sure that the iso on your digital camera is the same as the flim speed you are using also with a mamiya rz67
