First Flight of the Sirocket

The maiden flight of the Sirocket - the UK's first Single Seat Deregulated (SSDR) twin engine jet microlight. Video footage taken at Damyn's Hall Airfield on 11-Dec-11. The Sirocket is powered by two JetCat P200SX turbine engines.

While admiring the madness of the project I have to ask, why? It's as noisy as all f*ck, how many complaints against airfields will this generate?

Aside from the noise this is great. They only weight alb each with 52Lbs of thrust. Weight is always something you need to pay attention to in an ultralight. Congrats to the team!

Very cool project.

Footage on the ground: make a monopod out of a broomstick or even a branch, and you will have a MUCh steadier image.

Great job guys! A few months ago I actually put together a spreadsheet to analyze the performance of a similar theoretical aircraft with a pair of P200's. Definitely possible. Still a little pricey for the performance you get out of it but the awesomeness-to-cost ratio is out of this world!
