The great Terry Lewis on the mountain (lap/Appalacian) dulcimer playing the old hymn "Blessed Assurance" at Swannanoa Gathering. Terry was one of the Mt. Dulcimer instructors.
It was late Thursday, before the end of the Old Farmer's Ball, but before the various dulcimer jams started. I asked him to play this. I hope you like it, even if the only lighting is by rope lights and fireflies!

It has tabs for lots of tunes!

Swannanoa Gathering has many different weeks for musicians, one of them being Dulcimer Week for hammered and mountain dulcimers. It's located in Western North Carolina in the little town of Swannanoa on the Warren Wilson campus. Fantastic!

  • Terry, who made your dulcimer? Is this four evenly spaced strings or three? Very sweet. It reminds my why I chose the dulcimer when my girls were born.

  • Terry is so cool - I've learned so much from him - this is a great example of his grace on the instrument.

  • Lovely gentle playing
