Matt and lenawee Sheriff

This is an audio clip of my most resent conversation with the Lenawee County Sheriff's office in Adrian, Michigan. This is the continuation of my gun confiscation from July 25th of 2008 at the Lenawee Couty Fair ( see older posts for details). I went into the office this time instead of trying to talk to them over the phone. I brought 2 friends with me as witnesses and had both of them audio record the conversation. I apologize ahead of time for the quality, some parts are a bit hard to hear and understand. This event took place July 31, 2009.

To summerize... Through my research my understanding is the statute of limitations states that they (the sheriff dept.) has 1 year (365 days) to charge me with a crime. If they do not, or can not in this situation, they must relinquish my property that was confiscated. In this case that includes 1 x Walther P22, 1 x 10 round magazine for said gun, 10 x rounds of 22LR HP ammunition, 1 x left-handed belt holster.

The very friendly, polite and understanding ladies at the front desk (who did not understand WHY my gun was confiscated) contacted the "Duty Seargant". The Duty Seargant look over the paper work and told me that he did not see any reason why I could not get my gun back except for the fact that it is locked up in the evidence locker and only 2 people have a key to the evidence locker. Those two people are LT. Smith and SGT. Evall (not sure on spelling). They are not back in til Monday August 3rd, 2009.

I plan to return to the Sheriff's office on Monday the 3rd of August to retrieve my firearm that was wrongfully taken from me. I also plan to bring witnesses and audio record the event.
