Duran had brillant defense as well, slipping, feinting, countering. Pep had no power and was slaughter by Sandy Saddler. Ray Robinson is the prototype fighter, prime Duran is not too far behind.

After Sugar Ray Robinson, Duran is the greatest of all time.

i still dont see how people got it in there heads that ray robison was the best,he was tall skinny and fast,thats it wtf

@eme1ec i second that!!!

I've seen pretty much most of the footage available among boxing greats like Robinson, Armstrong, Louis, Ali, Pep, both Leonard's, Chavez, Langford and a few other rare birds and I can honestly say that in my honest opinion the best three were Robinson, Duran and Ali. Hardly anything exists on Greb. Monzon and Napoles and perhaps Jones Jr can also be thrown in the mix but my pick remain those three.

duran is the best professional fighter since ray robinson

I had a boxing chat/forum back in the 90's. I shut it down about '99. I had a poll alot of pretty knowladgeable fans, some fighters, a promoter, and some ringside newsguys voted. Duran was voted the greatest p4p fighter of all time. I won't argue with anyon saying the real "Sugar" is #1 though

I wouldn't give Ray Robinson a snowball's chance in hell against Duran p4p. The only guy I'd give that chance to would be Roy Jones. My money would still be on Duran but I'd be prepared to lose it.

@eme1ec i agree only robinson can be better than roberto duran. On second thoughts no I disagree-duran is the greatest fighter who ever lived.

hyena chase I had to wait 2 months for your reply jaja.Taylor sure did outpunch Chavez in their first encounter but Chavez was connecting with effective and more damaging blows.If Taylor had not been KO in 12th then Taylor would have won but his stupid trainer Lou Duva told him that he was losing the fight and that he needed to win the 12th rd! what a pendejo.Richard Steele helped Taylor by allowing him to punch JCC on the thighs and those are illegal low blows that Steele never penalized.
