Hiding groups you belong to
How do you keep your membership status to certain groups private? Click the Communicate button then go to the Groups tab. Groups are set to show by default, and you can opt-out of each group. Select the group you want to hide, and then select Info. Uncheck "List group in my profile". Then click OK. Then when someone looks at your profile, the group will not display in your profile. Remember, opting to hide a group only affects your profile, not other members'. To display your group again, go back and check "List group in my profile". You can also hide an entire group, in Group Ability.

  • @Hello2u2322 just activate the NONE title in groups and u won't have a tag above your name :)

  • How can I hide the tag they put over your head?

  • Kick everyone out and leave

  • How do u delete your groups

    that u made?

  • Lmao what a dork.. chicka-chickaa!

  • If youre a filthy hooker looking for work, I do NOT want you in my club. THATS why I think this feature is a stinking heap of annoyance.

  • This doesn't hide that a group EXISTS, and if you go into search you can look up any group and see it's members. It just keeps you from snooping through someone's profile to know where they spend their time. It's none of your business the places I go.

  • If you belong to a group that shows when you were last on-line, it's helpful to be able to hide this info. As was the case for me when I was being stalked by a lunatic late last year. I wanted to keep as much of my activity as I could to myself... :-) (thankfully *all* of his avatars were finally deleted by the Lindens, he must have upset them too...)

  • So Easy! Thanks!

    Another Great Tutorial!

Now if you can just get SL to revert to work with the previous Quicktime version for Windows 2k Users. I don't want to use a bloated XP just for SL!

    Love your tutorials tho!

    Thanks Torley!

  • I doubt that. It's useful for cleaning your profiles up. I've got alot of vendor groups being a designer that I don't like to spam my profile with.

    It's a good feature.
