@DeadbeatDuder Dani Filth is a fine example of what black metal isn't. While COB has nothing to do with black metal, Alexi's screams come much closer to the real article.

@jeleopard Children of Bodom has less to do with Black Metal than Avril Lavigne does. You can talk about "quintessential black metal screams" with Dani Filth, definitely not with Alexi. Maybe he was closer to black vocals with IneartheD (but even there with growls and not screams), but surely not with Follow the Reaper's Children of Bodom. In don't stop at the top and hellion he just sounds like someone with throat ache trying to growl. Nothing more, nothing less.

I think few things are more mainstream than late Children of Bodom, Alexi sold even his own ass. In those cover he can't scream, he's got no voice. And his latest vocals sounds like a puke more than a scream.
Not everything that doesn't scream is mainstream, learn listen to some real music, like that from 60s to 80s are, and tell me what really earns that hipster term, boyo.

I was 2 years old when this song came out. I literally grew up listening to this album and band in general. This is a phenomenal song!!! Brings back so many good memories. Just when I feel life crashing down.... I can play this song and every weight just lifts off!! I love the scorpions for the music they brought to life!!!
