China forced Miss Tibet to quit

Tsering Chungtak said that China pressured the competition organisers to replace her "Miss Tibet" sash with one reading "Miss Tibet-China".

When she refused, she claims, she was told she would have to leave the Miss Tourism Queen 2007 competition.

@tianyafeixing well TIBET is a country not city like new York n if she was given chance to even participate tat means the the organizers r ok with her representing Tibet. She is not at all Indian because Tibetans r not Indian citizen it's not like America if u r born there than ur American.. Get ur facts straight before u post comments...

Tibet 's NOT a country by any international or historical legality measures. There's no such thing as a Miss Tibet in an international pageant competition, much like there's no Miss New York in an international pageant competition. It has to be Miss America or Miss USA to qualify an entry.

Plus, she doesn't even live in Tibet, how could she represent Tibet?

She sounds more like an Indian than any real Tibetan. And she is an Indian citizen. Just call herself Miss India, OK?

@momotarusan You forgot to mention Ming dynasty between Yuan and Chin, Ming is a Han Chinese dynasty. Anyway, no matter Yuan,Chin or Ming, they are all Chinese because they live in the land of China, capital in Beijing, the only difference is that the governmnet is charged by different ethnic groups, but the people still live together in the same land, under the same sun. Now we have 56 ethnic groups live in China, no matter who is in charge at the government, we are all Chinese.

Courageous girl. Many Chinese do believe Tibet to be a part of China, the truth is that through out Chinese history, Tibet has only been more closely associated with the Yuan, which was founded by the Mongolians who invaded and conquered the Han Chinese. Chin dynasty who brutally suppressed Tibet was also not really Chinese, they were manchurians who after occupying china for a few centuries became assimilated. It is actually good that Japan did not succeed or they could shared the same fate
