@Camillewolf No, with horses there are set colours (Paint, Black, Chestnut, White and Bay), and for the gender part, you never see that far into it lol. But you can name it, by using a cheat for the PC version; setactorfullname "name"

I haven't replied to a comment on here in a LONG time, but I had to reply to this one.
Not every game has poor collision detection and a handful of preprogrammed animations for character movement. It's a bit unfair to compare it to other games that don't have this problem, as they are probably all newer than this old game, but go pick up any of the blockbuster games you've seen in the past couple of years and tell me they all have this problem.

lol the oblivion was released on 2006 hl2 was released on 2004 and it still has 1 of the best in game physics these days :) like npc foot ground detecting and such as stuff like in this video could never happen :) tho crytek engine is a major threat in physics to hl2 :/

Great point. To be honest, I had forgotten that the Source engine was that old. Well, not that it's old or anything, its just that time flies I guess.
But yeah, Source and Cryengine were some solutions I specifically had in mind when commenting. Also Rockstar's RAGE.

Yes, it can be fixed. My use of "simple" can be taken in various contexts, so I apologize for any ambiguities. "Simple" in the sense that while it would have taken more effort; there are libraries that exist (hell, maybe within their own physics and collisions engines) that would cut down on the apparent effect. That effort wasn't put in. That might not be a bad thing, if the effort was put in elsewhere in the actual gameplay instead. We'll leave that up for another discussion.
