@dsindc Los Angeles has two heavy rail lines, the Purple line along Wilshire and the Red line that goes to Hollywood and the Valley. The Purple line funding was approved by the Los Angeles MTA for extension to West Los Angeles.

@dsindc Los Angeles does have a large downtown city center. At almost 13 square miles Los Angeles's downtown is bigger than most downtowns. The Wilshire corridor on the Westside and the MacArthur Park district are among the most densly populated areas anywhere in the country according to a USC study back in the late 80's.

You thought Los Angeles was bad. One time I was inside an N.Y. subway car that was nearly empty when this bum got on and started peeing in a corner of the car. He then zipped up his zipper then proceeded to exit at the next stop. The few riders acted as though nothing happened. What a town.
