  • The idea for the phid is very practical. I have done splicing bare handed, but this can be

    used on any size rope.

  • Great tutorial. I was just about to install a hoist in the garage to store my Thule cargo box and wanted to use a static rope to secure it. This showed me how to loop the ends of the rope... and some lesson on even how rope is weakened with knots - which I never knew. Very cool stuff. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.
