Appearing frail and traumatized, teenage air crash survivor Bakari Bahia is flown to France to be reunited with her father.

The 14-year-old's remarkable tale of survival has captivated the world's media.

The only survivor from a Yemenia Airways jet which crashed near Comoros off the African coast, Bakari clung on to floating debris for more than 12 hours before search teams spotted her struggling in rough seas.

152 others on board the flight are missing — including the teenager's mother.

A French television crew accompanied the injured girl on the chartered flight to Paris.

Questioned about how she felt drew single-syllable answers.

Asked to describe her feelings about being reunited with her father, she says, "I don't know, I don't feel anything."

After a little prompting, she confesses to feeling a bit emotional.

With cuts to her face and a broken collarbone, doctors say she's traumatized but doing well.

American and French military aircraft are continuing to scour the crash site — but hopes of finding another miracle in the water are all but faded.

The Airbus A310 was flying the final leg of a trip from Paris and Marseille to Comoros via Yemen, when it plunged into the Indian Ocean while preparing to land during bad weather on Tuesday.

Yemen's national carrier has been plagued by recurring safety concerns.

It's since emerged that the doomed plane was banned from French airspace two years ago after an inspection revealed numerous faults.

The European Union says all Yemenia aircraft could be banned from its airspace, unless safety issues are immediately addressed.

  • poor thing...

  • Keep pounding on this nice thing that is to be the only survivor of an Airbus crash! Forget about putting pictures of the accident site. Yeah right! It is a good way of doing ´´Image Damage Control``. At least here in Brazil we showed how shitty is a plane crash. And a rudder floating on the ocean all by itself is a picture that I have the right to check if exist again and to take my own conclusions. Some people are able to do that.
