Island of the Nine Whirlpools

A remote island one thousand miles from anywhere. The island is a peaceful and fertile haven with little to recall its curious history.
Only the so-called Lone Tower emerging from the sands and the clapping scallops and exotic birds remain as silent witness of the past. For centuries the island was made inaccessible by a chain of nine whirlpools that surround it; for that reason; a King of a distant land chose it as the safest place to exile his child. He did so partly because she was a girl and he had wanted a son, and partly she had defied him. The girl was sent to the island and put under a spell; she would never grow old and would remain on the island until someone brave appeared to rescue her.
Over the centuries many tried to rescue the enchanted girl , but were repelled by the whirlpools. Finally the son of a sea captain heard the story and came to the island. He contrived to calculate the exact moment when the whirlpools were stilled by the falling tide, and landed on the island.
Here he fell in love with the girl and they married and built a beautiful palace under the sea.
