alright i've made changes to my live set : one reaktor plugin for each of my three main tracks with beatlookup and two sends for each with different effects maped on my edirol. Each track has a Looper effect to loop beats or samples that are mashed up in beatlookup so i can mash them up again or combine loops as i wish. keys on my keyboard does the looping triggering and clearing. the mpd 24 triggers clips on the A bank and bank 2 has control over the global recording for global resampling (which is not demonstrated here). with the help of asio4all i also enabled my internal audio soundcard's output to cue audio to my headphones. all samples are actually loops i did live and resampled through loopers.
i'll get some more test online when i can actually play for minutes without getting you bored with only 3 or 4 loops of music. Cause i know that sucks. This video was just to demonstrate some stuff.

  • can an amen beat be made on ableton if you use just the single hits like snare, bass(kick),hi-hats,and other hits?

still not sure if you can make a beat like that on ableton .thankyou..

  • sure you can dude. of course it won't sound like the real one. but the beat itself, the rythm i mean, is quite easy to do. listen to the original amen loop with the bpm slowed down, learn the rythm, reproduce it and speed the bpm up. That will surely do it

  • It doesn't sound like you're having any CPU troubles, but if you want to cut down on the amount of plugins you have open, try this:

Configure your tracks in the I/O section to only go to the sends, then set up toggles to switch whether a track is going 100% to A or 100% to B, have one send be totally Dry, and stack your effects on the other. That way you can just decide what you want to effect and what you don't on the fly.

Frees up some CPU and controller real estate :) Anyways, awesome video!

  • This sounds nuts. Good work!

  • thankyou for answering the question.

  • very cool

  • better than beat lookup its effectrix form sugarbytes... do the same thing but inside live without opening any reaktor stuff
