I used to have the Steve Austin figure with the rocket ship that you could put him in. I remember he had flesh colored rubber on his arms that you could roll up and take out the bionics, and you could look through a hole in the back of his head and see out his bionic eye.

My older brother Ian had the exact same toy set set - it sure looked like a rocket ship, it was called the Bionic Transport and Repair Station. The look through telescopic eye was cool, but the peel back elastic skin and replacement bionics made for countless hours of fun! Check out the site retroland, com and search for the 'six-million-dollar-man-toys'

Pay attention. . .you are missing important details like his bionic arm is atomic powered AED-4. Please focus. And it's only got nominal double gain.

Ok, not to be so technical, but he was dropped from a bomber plane and testing a "lifting body" aircraft. Lifting bodies have no engines to "hold altitude" right? So, the intro of him excited about having a blowout is not technically possible for the lifting body aircraft he was testing....that would be more accurate for a fighter jet....Right???

When my man's friend was passed out on the couch last night, i whispered that in his ear: "We can rebuild you. We have the technology."

Yup, you're right. The sad truth is, that the original SMDM producers already had all these angles factored in, so Steve would then have actually cost only $60,000, and $6 mill today.

Actually, if this happened to a pilot these days it would be the Six Million Dollar lawsuit. Maybe Oscar would be the attorney...

That's the problem with a remake, what would it be called? Six Billion Dollar Man presumably.

What would Six Million get you these days? A pair of wooden legs, a hook and an eye patch, and Oscar would have him cleaning the office on minimum wage.
