In this video, educators at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS; Quechee, VT) flight train a harris' hawk. The hawk is part of the educational programs and outreaches. While the hawk flies freely in our programs, in this video the educators have him tethered (creance) for training purposes. Read more about our education training and our patients in rehabilitation on our blog at http://vtnature.blogspot.com/. Learn all about VINS on our web site, http://www.vinsweb.org/.

  • I got to see the Harris hawk demo a couple of years ago when my sister was up for a visit. We were both very impressed with that and the showing of the other hawks and owls. Well worth visiting if you are ever here to visit.
