SCENE still in the kitchen
"I'm In Love With Her" Joe's POV
Demi seemed shocked that I had asked her. And I could understand. "But she doesn't know me."
"She won't know anyone I take. But I want to take you." I smiled, showing my teeth. "I know you've always wanted to go to Italy. And it's proper Italian rural communities." I told her, flashing back to truth or dare five years ago, when we both told each other some of our life ambitions.
"That sounds amazing." She smiled and kissed my cheek. "Thank you, Joe."
Then she got up to put the lasagne in the oven and I watched her. She was beautiful, my Demi. She always has been. But in the time I had been gone, she had flourished. And I think that had some help from being away from her mother.
You see, her mother raised her on her own. Demi's dad is still in contact he just didn't have a hand in raising her; unless you count paying for everything. Her mom was beautiful, still is beautiful in fact. And she had the makings of a famous dancer. Then she went clubbing when she was on holiday one night and well... you know.
Anyway, turns out, that the guy who she slept with was moving to the city and she ran into him when she had a little bump showing. He didn't want anything to do with the baby because he was engaged but he put money into an account each month.
As you can guess, her dreams of being a dancer went rolling down a cliff and into a river, so she pushed them on Demi from a young age. It's not like Demi doesn't like dancing, in fact she loves it. It's just the fact that it is turning into more of a job than something she loves to do.
"Joe? Joe?"
I looked up from my interlocked hands and saw two dainty hands waving in front of my face.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Hi." She smiled. "Nice of you to join me."
"Why would I leave?"
She smiled and started to say something until VV Brown started playing.
"What's that?"
"My phone." She brought her bag into the kitchen and put it on the table before rummaging through it. She pulled out her BlackBerry and pressed some buttons to open her text. "Oh, shit."
"Oh! Potty mouth!"
She laughed then turned the phone for me to see the screen.

Hey, duet comp. Just been told about it. Next Friday. You up for it? Anger routine.x
"Ok, a) who is Rob H, b) anger routine?"
"Rob is Robert Hoffman, who is my duet partner. And the anger routine is one of our backup routines."
"Ohh. Can I come watch?"
"Sure. I can get you a ticket."
"Where is the show?"
"Erm..," her phone vibrated again and she looked down at it. "The Palladium Theatre."
"Wow. You perform there?" We'd gone to see many dance shows there when we were younger. Mainly because Demi's mom used to drag Demi there and she dragged me along to stop her being bored.
"Yup," she smiled. "It's even more amazingly breathtaking from the stage. We're going to have to practice tomorrow, so will you be ok entertaining yourself?"
"Erm... I think I'll be able to manage it. I might just hang around here."
"Oh. But you might be bored. Are you sure you'll be ok?"
"What do you want me to do? Gatecrash your session?"
"Erm, could you pick me up? Because you could get your car from storage and y'know pick me-,"
"I'll pick you up, Dems." I smiled. "I can go pick up the car, visit mum then pick you up. What time will you be done?"
"If you come around 3, we should be done. Is that ok? Cos I know Mrs J will want to keep you as close as possible."
"It'll be fine Dems. Don't worry."
