Well I do not know if homosexuality is a behavior or something you are born with. The Black host in here believes one should not equate behaviour (homosexuality) with being Black. And perhaps he has a point (I really don't know if you're born gay or not). However as a JEW am I not born Jew but also choose to be Jewish? Weren't my ancestors choosing to be Jewish by not converting to Christianity? SHOULD JEWS AND JUDAISM BE OUTLAWED FOR THIS REASON? I hope not.

Seems like they cut the guy off at his question. He may have had clarification on the question, but they chose to make him look like a douche. Not to mention that no one's saying that same sex and opposite sex marriages are teh same in all dimensions, they're only the same in the notion that these two people want to commit to each other. It's obvious to someone who isn't blind that same sex involves two people of the same sex. But that doesn't make the minority of same sex marriage wrong.

The issue here is that people with same sex attractions want to call it marriage and redefine for the rest of the population their marriage which has a total different meaning. They have not right to do so.

Sodom and homosexuality? May I suggest reading the following bible verse? Ezek. 16: The sin of Sodom was that they did not help the poor and needy and were arrogant. See also Matth. 10: Also, Flavius Josephus who said: they hated foreigners. The story of Sodom is repeated later in the Bible, and there the wife is pushed out of the door and in the morning found dead on the doorstep. Sodom is not about being gay, so stop abusing your Bible.

If they can't admit that being homosexual is NOT a behavior, the conversation can't even begin. If you aren't acknowledging reality, how can anyone convince you of anything?

It used to be common to "treat" homosexuality with electroshock treatment. If it were something you just decided NOT to DO, I highly doubt religious gay teens would be torturing themselves to stop BEING gay and committing suicide because they are called an "abomination" by their communities and families.

Last time I checked one "chooses" their religion and can certainly change their affiliation at any time,yet THAT is a "protected"class ...makes no sense to prohibit two people from marrying just because of their gender.

They haven't had sex with a person of their same gender, so you're whole "Jews, blacks and women were discriminated against for who they were not for who they were having sex with" makes no sense, because there are gays all over the world who haven't even HAD sex with the same gender, and yet they are still being beaten, attacked, called names, and brought into depression. Being gay is loving someone of the same gender, big deal, it's the exact same as a white person loving a black person, a Jewish person loving a Catholic person. And so on and so forth. You need to get it through your thick head that gay ppl are getting discriminated for who they are, not for who they're having sex with. Frankly what about gay teens who haven't had sex, WHY are they...

@kenballer00 Erm excuse me? How dare you call being gay a lifestyle. Yes, being gay isn't the same as being black, because gay people didn't go through being slaves. But last I checked, they were killed along with Jewish people during the Holocaust and were LABELED by the Nazis as gay, with the same band the Jews wore (except with a pink triangle instead of star of David). I think you need a reality check. There is no gay lifestyle, there's being gay and there's being straight.

your analogy to homosexuality and race is misguided. being gay may or may not be a choice but living the gay lifestyle is a choice and that's why we are here. the government doesn't ask you whether you are gay or straight. sexual orientation has nothing to do with the issue.you can't compare an immutable characteristic (race gender etc) to somebody's behavior. A lifestyle is not a minority. Jews, blacks, and women were discriminated against for who they were not for who they were having sex with

gays and lesbians have always been allowed to get married even to each other just of different sex and happen to be in traditional marriages as we speak. if your going to say that they would be miserable in living such a way, then welcome to the club. everybody , gay or straight, is equally having a miserable time with opposite-sex marriage. what your proposing to do is create extra SPECIAL RIGHTS that exist outside the constitution.

"Civil Unions have the same rights" No they do not. When R71 attempted to give civil unions (separate but equal---haven't we gone through this before, something about it being inherently unequal?) ALL the same rights without the word "marriage" people spoke out against it. They are against EQUAL RIGHTS, not redefining marriage. In this high-stakes game of poker they have just shown their hand.
