  • @ajlanigan Thank you. FWIW I take 3 Glucans (Transfer Point 500mg) per day in the morning for the last year and half and got 4 other people doing it too. Anecdotal but have only been sick once in 18 months - very unusual for me. Similar story with friends.

  • I have been on beta glucan for 5 years now. Great stuff! Recently, I have added Cantavita, a timerelease antioxidant. I feel more energized. Being a cancer survivor, I have been on a high antioxidant diet and supplement.

  • I have thousands of customers who have taken my product on a daily basis since 1996. None have developed any condition that suggests that the product does anything but help them stay healthy. I would not use the term "charged up". BG is an immune modulator, therefore supporting a healthy immune system response and not causing any undesirable effects. This may not be true of all immune supplements including other glucans. Caveat Emptor re: untested and unproven compounds regardless the hype.

  • @ajlanigan What is your take on continual supplementation with BG? I mean has anyone considered whether in fact its a good idea to have your immunes system "charged up" continuously. Or should would it in fact be more beneficial to be rather taken periodically? PS Im a big TP fan and customer :)

  • Zymosan forced down wind pipe: Exp Lung Res. 2009 Sep;35(7):570-90. There are lots of studies like this. There is not much more relation to my product vs. zymosan than there is with going into a moldy basement, taking a deep breath. Zymosan is very dirty, ill-purified yeast cell wall. This is the inherent risk people take using glucan that is not very, very highly purified like mine. Mannans, as an example, are known to be hugely pro-inflammatory. Caveat Emptor - Do not snort dirty glucan

  • @ajlanigan OMG Mr. aj lanigan. I found out that BG increases pulmonary inflammation. WTF! In one study, it also caused pulmonary hemorrhage. And in another study, "Zymosan treatment increased tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha, interleukin (IL)-6, IL-10, and IL-12p70 secretion in BALF on day 1. In summary, rats exposed to zymosan had an increase in acute inflammation, and the altered lymphocyte profiles were consistent with the findings of epidemiology studies."

WTF. :'( Any comments on this?

  • @ajlanigan Wow OK Thanks!!!! What about an Adaptogen like Ashwagandha? OK as well? I read Vit C and BG work well together in some studies and C even increases EGCG uptake. That's great thank you!

  • Vitamin C may be OK. A completely water soluble supplement may be OK, but reserve the other supplement loading for another time in the day.

  • @ajlanigan I guess what I really wanted to know is that if she may take some supplements which also needed to be taken preprandial (like her EGCG, Vit C, or maybe genistein) without causing a lower uptake for BG. Can we take BG along with Vit. C or other supps before meals? Thanks!

  • Rely on MEDLINE for accurate information. According to the published studies on AHCC, the "low dose" starts at 50 mg / KG up to 1000 mg / KG. For a 150 lb person (about 68 KG) your minimum dose would be 3400 mg daily. Despite that the latest study showed "no effect on total NK cell cytotoxicity". Another human study had dosing @ 3000 mg daily to show "No significant differences in PHA, NK cell activity, and cytokine production" That's a lot of high priced powder for little result
