Quick detachable scope mounts

Here is a demo of two different types of detachable scope mounts.

EAW Pivot mounts from Germany and Talley QD mounts.

I prefer the EAW mounts but the Talley's are very good too.
Especially if you are on a tighter budget.

7mm Mauser or 7x57. It is a great cartridge with good power and fairly low recoil. I use mine for moose and deer with a 175gr or 160gr bullet.

how well do they maintain 'zero' after detaching and re-attaching?

I have not had any problems at all with loss of zero. I do trust the EAW set a bit more as they have a more precise base to lock in to.

I live in Canada so the stores I use would not be the best choice for you.

If you are trying to make a copy that looks like an original than you will need to research about original scopes or modern copies. I don't know anything about these.

If you just want a normal hunting style scope then any hunting store will be able to set you up with something.

My scope is a Leupold hunting scope.
