Tony Spink was a free spirit, a traveller, a mountain man, and an intelligent, gifted and creative person. Shostakovicth was his all-time favourite composer and his 5th Symphony, and its piece IV Allegro Non Troppo, was his all-time favourite piece of music. This is a collection of some of his happiest and most triumphant moments in the mountains set to the awe-inspiring and powerful music that is Shostakovitch.

  • Only found out a few days ago. In shock and disbelief, I had no idea. I had been trying to get back in touch with him. Tony was exceptional, no one like him. I spent a lot of time listening to classical music with him when he lived in Leeds. He really cared about people and observed life with a wonderful sense of humour. I can't watch the video yet, it is too much. I don't know what to say, words cannot say it. Graham

  • Andrew, this is truly wonderful... I didn't think I could make it all the way through, and the finale was almost too much... and my heart is pouring tears... and bursting with love and pride for our beloved brother Tony and for our wonderful family. And amazing tribute to an amazing man. Thank you for finding the strength. Angela
