12 ANP men allegedly kidnap, torture 2 Rangers personnel

KARACHI: Twelve Awami National Party (ANP) activists kidnapped two Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) personnel while they were patrolling the Sultanabad area in the wee hours of Monday. Rangers Sub-Inspector Riaz Sarwar filed a complaint with the Jackson police against 12 ANP activists, including Zainul Abideen, Subhan, Rehmatullah, Imran, Malik Naveed and Zaid Gul. Sarwar said the ANP men had kidnapped Rangers' Naik Rehmatullah and Tanveer and taken them to an ANP office where the law enforcers' weapons were snatched from them and they were tortured; however, the Rangers personnel were later released and admitted to a hospital. staff report

Operation against criminals & suspects of CID attack bother Local Leadership of Awami National Party. Its reaction and threats to the people of Karachi are very vocal.
On 25th November, a mini-operation cum crackdown was conducted by Law Enforcement Agencies in Karachi. As per the initial reports, the operation was in connection with CID Center Attack's investigations, but later Rangers Officials, who were leading the operation denied and maintained that the operation is only against the "Criminal" elements.
Different news reports quoted the crime rate in the city to be rising continuously, with recorded cell phone theft reaching 3000 / month. In many cases these "minor" crimes become source of major incidents of terrorism, adding counts in "target killing" toll when one robber kill another over dispute of share or a land grabber kill another for occupying his piece of land.
The same night Provincial Leadership of Awami National Party, a political party who claimed themselves to be representatives of "ALL PASHTUNs" in Sindh and having 2 members in Provincial Assembly of 168 members, furiously charged Law Enforcement Agencies of being biased toward them. The newly appointed provincial leadership also threats to quit the federal coalition and of severe reaction if the crackdown wouldn't be stopped at once and the arrested were not released.
Whereas on 26th November the Central Leadership of the same ethnic Political Party having very little control on the local leadership linked the crackdown with a incidents in which weapons was snatched from Rangers officials in limits of Sultanabad area of Karachi. They claimed that a leaders of Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan Zain Mehsud and his men were involved in the incidents which was wrongly linked with their party.
However, Some other officials linked the crackdown with investigation from two men, arrested while trying to smuggle a heavy consignment of arms to the City. The investigators said that the weapons were recovered from a Intercity Bus Stand in Saddar Area, where last year fires were being shot on a religious procession.
It is reported that most of the men arrested were released after initial interrogation, which according to Rangers officials are very fruitful, while some suspects were handed to the local Police for prosecution.
The charge workers of ANP also staged protest in some areas where incidents of harassment and torture were reported. In a similar incident a mob tried to burn Body Guard of Pakistan Senator Faisal Raza Abidi along with his father and a 7 year old son. Police Officials claimed the were burnt by acid. Throwing acid on opponents specially on women visiting markets is a tradition of Talibans.

I think what Talibans are doing with anp is absolutely justifiable, anp kills the innocent and in turn gets killed by the talibans though majority of these anp leaders roam around with high-security protocols escorting them which makes it fairly difficult for the talibans to penetrate and bomb them into oblivion, btw living under american slavery and then killing the innocents in karachi does have some devastating repercussions, remember justice can also be served on earth..
