Eeeek I always get nervous when we are around train stations on the continent due to past...unpleasantness.

Stanley is quite a forgiving and well-rounded sort of a chap isnt he. What a very laided back attitude he has to life and all its ups and downs.

Escape Committee Bulletin
Tomorrow is the escape committees first birthday. As such- for security reasons- all work on the construction of Shovewood will cease forthwith.

The digging of the foundations for Shovewood II shall begin Saturday the 24th. Bring shovels, sandbags, ducktape, wrenches, spoons, candles, chocolate, water, wooden bed boards, copper wire, the french wireless set, sandwiches {egg and cress preferably- though will take anything but spam} screwdrivers, safety pins, cotton wool and the last tin of peaches.

Of all the roles that I've watched David play I believe Stanley has got to be the sweetest. There just isn't a malicious hair on that golden head.

And no wonder Carla gave up twenty million lire if it meant seeing that smile one last time.

Very cute movie.Thanks shovewood for posting this. I have to say I rather enjoyed watching David play such an adorably sweet role...probably the only truly sweet character he's ever played. Really, it's almost scary how sweet his character is!! If I wanted to hug him in his previous roles, believe me, I want to hug him in this role all the more! :D

Yea! A new tunnel. More digging, sharing, rations, staying up all night forging ID Cards, braiding rope and carving bed boards. Also more strange behavior so the Germans won't know what's genuinely suspicious and whats just British.

yes for security reasons I think its best we start a new tunnel each year (oh im in it for the long haul :)- and here we are...yay..our new little home. *Dashes for bunk opposite Flt Lt Carters so can watch him sleep angelically*

Well, happy first birthday to you--and I'll keep it under my hat so to speak.

I can bring the spoons, chocolate and safety pins to the new digs, but if I had Carter I'd have to think long and hard about whether or not to share him:)
