The final, two-hour episode of Miami Vice aired on May 21, 1989 and was entitled Freefall. The final show-down found Crockett and Tubbs heading to a mythical Latin American country called Costa Morada. Their objective-to bring back General Manuel Borbon who was a brutal dictator who they were hoping would testify against major members of South Americas most powerful drug cartel. A revolution breaks out while they are in Costa Morada which nearly collapses the hated Borbon and his strongly held leadership of the country. Crockett and Tubbs try to smuggle Borbon out of the country, dodging both the revolutionaries and the drug lords who want to keep Borbon in power so they can continue to use the country as the main artery for their cocaine-selling empire. SO The detectives return to Miami to realize they have been betrayed and together, they make a last stand. Both Crockett and Tubbs leave the force at the end of the episode, and relay back to how they came to be together with the original line from the first episode asking Tubbs if he would be interested in pursuing a career in southern Florida law enforcement. Tubbs, smiling knowingly, replies, Maybe maybe.

  • @danmarino1970 Wouldn't work though sadly. The recent film proves that. It's a great film but not Miami Vice-it's far too dark and serious. Back then the world was a safer, easier going place, and the humour and excesses of the show reflected this. So now I've just turned 40 I'd rather sit down, grab my box set, roll my sleeves up and transport myself back to happier, safer times. Sounds crazy, but when this series ended, it felt like I'd lost some very good friends. :(

  • @vlunney I'd say Don Johnson would do it.

  • Nice to hear "Tell Me" by the late great Terry Kath of Chicago fame. Beautiful song!!

  • I'm all for that reunion! Just make sure it's the original cast members and not that Miami Vice with Jamie Foxx and what's his face.

  • @choochootrayn amen. REUNION!!!

  • @menard98

    Your dead right.

  • Classic stuff that I miss.

  • So I guess they never did have sex?

  • the end of the 80's right there.

  • @danmarino1970 AMEN, brother!
